Frequently Asked Questions

  • Chiropractic care extends beyond pain management. While pain relief is a common reason people seek chiropractic care, our focus is on the health of your nervous system which controls all aspects of your body. By addressing subluxations or misalignments, we aim to improve overall health, not just alleviate pain.

  • Pain is often a late sign that something is wrong. By the time you feel pain, a subluxation may have been present for some time, and your body has been trying to adapt. Regular chiropractic adjustments can correct these issues before they lead to pain or discomfort.

  • While many associate chiropractic care solely with addressing back or neck pain, its scope is considerably broader. As chiropractors focus on the nervous system—which regulates the entire body—our care can assist with numerous health concerns. These may include chronic pain, stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, emotional instability, ADHD, migraines, fatigue, fibromyalgia, back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, sciatica, leg pain, TMJ dysfunction, and more. By ensuring your nervous system functions optimally, we aim to improve overall health and wellbeing.*

*While we aim to assist with these conditions, individual results may vary, and we cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

  • Vertebral subluxation refers to stress or tension in the spine that interferes with the communication between your nervous system and body. Your body has an incredible ability to self-heal and self-regulate, guided by your central nervous system. However, environmental factors can lead to tension and stress in your spine, disrupting this communication. Chiropractors are trained to locate, analyze, and correct these areas of interference, helping your body function at its highest capacity.

  • Vertebral subluxation can disrupt nerve communication, leading to a variety of symptoms, including back pain, headaches, migraines, digestive issues, sleep disorders, and more. A healthy spine free from interference equals a healthy nervous system.

  • We recommend chiropractic checks for children from birth. Birth processes, early growth, learning to crawl and walk—all these can impact spinal alignment. Regular chiropractic adjustments can help maintain alignment during these fast-changing years, promoting healthier development.

  • Generally, chiropractic adjustments are not painful. Some people may experience minor discomfort or soreness after an adjustment, similar to starting a new exercise regimen. This is a normal part of your body adapting to the improved movement.

  • Not all adjustments cause a “pop”. The sound is often the release of gas from synovial joints. It's a harmless part of the process and doesn't determine the effectiveness of the adjustment.

  • Yes, we are registered to accept ACC patients, no referrals needed. If you've had a recent injury, you may be eligible for subsidized chiropractic care. We'll help you sort this out during your first appointment.

  • Yes, we can accommodate patients covered by Southern Cross and NIB insurance. For Southern Cross members, we can check your level of cover directly through their provider portal using your policy number, and invoice Southern Cross directly. If you're covered by NIB, payment is required at the clinic. You can then send the receipt to NIB for reimbursement, as they currently do not have an online portal for providers.

  • Chiropractic care plans are personalized to your specific needs and history. Most health issues develop over time, and accordingly, recovery is often a gradual process. The length of your care plan often reflects the time it took for the health issue to manifest. However, many patients choose to continue with maintenance care even after their initial symptoms have resolved because they appreciate the overall sense of wellbeing and improved function regular chiropractic adjustments provide.
