Who we are
The Healing Centre is a chiropractic practice with clinics at 614A Remuera Road, Remuera, Auckland 1050 and 361 Great North Road, Henderson, Auckland 0612. We collect and hold your information so that we can provide chiropractic care. Questions about this notice go to hello@thehealingcentre.co.nz.
What we collect and why
- Your contact details, date of birth and an emergency contact, to identify you and manage your appointments.
- Your health history, injury details, examination findings, treatment notes and consent, to assess and treat you safely and to keep the clinical record we are required to keep.
- ACC claim details, to lodge and manage claims with ACC on your behalf.
- Payment and insurance details, to invoice you, ACC or your insurer.
You do not have to give us this information, but without it we may not be able to treat you or lodge a claim for you.
Where your information is collected
- Online bookings run through Cliniko, an Australian practice management service that stores our records in Australia. Booking online sends your name, contact details and appointment choice to Cliniko.
- Our ACC claim form is hosted by SubmitKit and is checked by your chiropractor before the claim is lodged with ACC.
- Phone calls may be answered by an AI phone assistant that takes appointment details and passes a written summary to our team. Calls are not recorded.
- Email to hello@thehealingcentre.co.nz, and in clinic, on paper or in Cliniko.
Website analytics and advertising
This website uses Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking and the Meta Pixel to understand how the site is used and how our advertising performs. These tools set cookies and record the pages you visit and clicks on booking buttons. They do not receive your health information or anything you enter in the booking system or the ACC form. You can limit them with your browser's cookie settings, Google's Ads Settings and Meta's ad preferences.
Who we share it with
- ACC, when you have a claim.
- Your insurer, where you ask us to invoice them directly.
- Your GP or another health provider, when we refer you or coordinate your care, with your agreement or where the law allows.
- The service providers named above, only as far as they need it to provide their service to us.
We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
Health records are kept for at least 10 years after your last contact with us, as the Health (Retention of Health Information) Regulations 1996 require, and are then securely destroyed.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected. Email hello@thehealingcentre.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Security
Records are held in Cliniko with access limited to the clinic staff who need it, and this website is served over HTTPS. This notice is issued under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
